Upon submission of the online application, there is an Admission Application Pledge in *English* or *Arabic*, that needs to be signed by the applying student’s parent, in person, at the Admission Office Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten Administration.
For all applying students:
For Jordanian Students:
For Non-Jordanian Students:
All required documents must be submitted along with the Online Admission Application Form, in order for an Entrance Exam and Personal Interview to be scheduled.
Students of Grades (1-3) are accompanied with their parents to the Head of Stage. The interview and exam are conducted in the stage.
Students of Grade (4-12) usually sit for the Entrance Exam before the Personal Interview. After the entrance exam (which is held in one of the designated computer labs), all students sitting for the exam are accompanied back to the Admissions Office. Students who sit for the exam are then interviewed, usually on the same day. If for any reason the Head of Stage or her deputy is not available, an interview is rescheduled for another day. In certain cases, the entrance exam may be repeated if the Admissions Committee feels it is necessary.
What Does the Entrance Exam Include?
Entrance exams are given in core subjects, based on what students should have learned in previous years at school. They are meant to help assess a student’s academic abilities, level and needs. Students do not need to study for the Entrance Exam.
Note: Arabic Language Exams are not included for Non-Arabic speaking students applying for the international stream at any grade level.
There is no written exam for KG1 and KG2. The Kindergarten’s Principal or one of the KG administrators evaluates the child’s basic skills through a personal interview, in the presence of his/her parents. Educational games are used during the interview to assess cognitive skills. The interviewer also asks the child questions to evaluate his/her linguistic skills (sentence formation/letter pronunciation), observes the child’s behaviour and evaluates his/her ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
Children graduating from Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten and moving on to Grade 1 at NOS do not need to sit for an entrance exam but are enrolled based on a written recommendation from the WTKG Administration, according to standard academic and behavioral conduct criteria, unless NOS receives notification from the parents of their desire to register elsewhere.
Students interested in joining Grade 1 at NOS from outside Wahbeh Tamari KG sit for an entrance exam prepared by Wahbeh Tamari KG and Stage (1-3) Administration, according to standard academic and behavioral conduct criteria.
When evaluating students in this stage, special consideration is given to the fact that students in lower grades are still building their academic skills and capabilities. Students are evaluated more on their ability to concentrate and their cognitive and conversational skills.
Paper-and-Pen assessments are conducted as follows:
National Stream: Arabic Language, English Language and Math in Arabic.
International: Arabic Language, English Language, Math in English.

Grades (11 and 12) International–IBDP: Arabic Language, English Language and Math in English.
The academic and behavioural performance of accepted students continues to be evaluated throughout their first year at NOS: once at the end of the 1st Semester (where evaluation results are shared and discussed with the parents), and again at the end of the school year, in order for a decision to be taken on whether or not to renew their registration. This process is carried out by an Internal Review Committee consisting of the School Principal, Head of Stage, Counsellor, and Discipline Supervisor.
Applications for Grades (1-8) are reviewed by an NOS Students Admissions Sub-committee consisting of the School Principal, Head of Stage, Head of Student Counseling/Stage Counsellor and the Admissions Officer. This Sub-committee also submits its recommendations to the OES Admissions Committee regarding students applying for Grades (9-12).
Applications of Grades (9-12), are reviewed by the OES Student Admissions Committee, consisting of OES Schools Committee representatives in addition to the NOS School Principal and Admissions Officer.
All applications reviewed and discussed by the Students Admission’s Committee, take into consideration the recommendations of the Heads of Stages, Admission’s Officer and others concerned, and according to the following criteria:
