Upper Primary Stage (Grades 4-5)
This Stage aims at enabling students to:
- Continue developing their social-emotional intelligence, self-control, their ability to express their feelings in a positive manner and to be kind and compassionate with others and maintain friendships.
- Acquiring and practicing good healthy, nutritional, environmental and study habits.
- Develop the love of knowledge, learn and apply the skills of 21st century and discover their potentials and their interests.
- Develop reading, writing, mathematics and sciences skills.
- Respect order and preserve public property.
- Utilize free time positively and constructively.
Teaching in Grades (4-5) depends on specialized instruction by subject teachers. Students learn the following subjects according to the academic programme they choose:
The National Programme
Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics in Arabic, Science in Arabic, Social Studies in Arabic, Science in English, French Language, Christian and Islamic Religious Studies in Arabic, Computer, Physical Education (P.E.), Art, Music, Drama and Global Perspectives.
The Intranational Programme - Cambridge Primary (CP)
Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics in English, Science in English, Social Studies in Arabic, French Language, Christian and Islamic Religious Studies in Arabic, Computer, Physical Education (P.E.), Art, Music, Drama and Global Perspectives.
There are 8 classes a day; each class is 40 minutes. Students have one 30-minute break after the 4th period.
