Total Building Area: School buildings: 26,220 m2 + Arena: 5,100m2 Total land Area: 20 Dunums

All school indoor and outdoor facilities are strictly non-smoking areas, and are equipped with fire protection systems and clearly marked fire exits. Emergency escape route maps and CCTV cameras are distributed throughout the school.

The school uses Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) cells to generate and conserve energy and has a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system installed in all drinking coolers and fountains in all the buildings and playgrounds.

The following are the School’s main facilities:

Learning Resource Centre

NOS has two Learning Resource Centres, the Grades (1-5) LRC, with around (9322) publications, and the Grades (6-12) LRC, with around (17170) publications. Both include a wide range of literary and scientific books and periodicals to help students in their research and offer options for leisure reading.

Our students and teachers can also make use of the Digital Library, Destiny Follett (nos.follettdestiny.com) which our school provides. This is a safe digital space where our students can explore and search freely, anytime, anywhere, among electronic books, wikis and blogs and other websites relevant to the school curriculum, using any desktop, laptop or digital device.

Students can borrow books from the library during recess using their library ID card, or they can use their school e-mail username and password to access the online library.

In addition to library literacy classes, where students learn library skills, and visits to the library with different subject teachers, both libraries welcome our dear students during breaks (recess) and offer them a variety of age and level appropriate activities, with the aim of attracting students as many students as possible to visit the library.

Computer Labs

The school has 6 computer labs (a lab on each floor of each stage) for students to use during computer classes (a computer for each student). Students can also use the computers to work on their projects during breaks, in coordination with the computer lab supervisor.

All devices are new and equipped with advanced, age appropriate educational programmes for the different grades. Internet connection is available, throughout the school, with a firewall for the protection of our students.

Science Laboratories

There is a general science lab on each floor for Stages (1-3), (4-5) and (6-8).

More specialised labs are available in the floors of Stage (9-12), for use by those grades, as well as by classes from other stages as needed:

Clinics

The school has two well equipped clinics, operated by a General Physician and two nurses who provide medical care for students and staff. The medical team conducts routine check-ups for students periodically, gives necessary vaccinations as per the Ministry of Education directives to vaccinate Grade 1 and 10 students, helps spread health awareness and ensures the provision of a healthy and hygienic environment in the school.

The team also handles any injuries that may occur at school, during out of school activities or on school buses, whether by treating them in the clinic or accompanying them to the hospital.

The school clinics also provide treatments for simple illnesses and follow up with parents regarding any necessary medical procedures, in addition to keeping a medical record for each student containing all vital information such as their medical history, any food or other allergies and visits to the school clinic.

NOS Fawzi & Nuha Shnoudeh Nursery for Children of NOS Staff

NOS has been offering caretaking service for children of staff members for many years, but the NOS Nursery was recently been moved to a new, larger location, with more specialised facilities and furnishing. This project stems from our Society and School’s commitment to putting its staff’s mind at ease and as a show of appreciation to NOS teachers and staff, who leave their own children and spend their days caring for the children of others. In return, NOS and OES wanted to make sure that their staff members felt they were leaving their children in good hands, and in a state-of-the-art facility that they will enjoy being in.

The New NOS Nursery, which is being named after Mr. & Mrs. Shnoudeh for their generous contribution to the project, includes: 2 classrooms, 1 activities and dining room with a kitchen, 1 room for infants and bathrooms for children and their caretakers.

The nursery can host up to (28-30) children: 13 children ages (0-2) years and 14 children ages (2-4) years.

There are 5 caretakers, in addition to the Supervisor:

  • 1 caretaker for infants (0-1 years)
  • 2 caretakers for toddlers (1-2 years)
  • 2 caretakers (2-4 years)
