A Glimpse about NOS Science Clubs:
 

 

The NOS Science Clubs aim to link what our children are learning in class with scientific and empirical realities, develop students’ interest in scientific research and innovation, discover their scientific interests and encourage teamwork and student social interaction. Club members participate in different local and global competitions and conferences, lectures, screen scientific films and organize field trips inside and outside Jordan. They also prepare scientific reports and research papers.  

Announcements are sent at the beginning of each school year via NOS e-mail to all Grades (6-12) Students and their parents with a registration link.        

Each club holds meetings once a week during school break according to a set schedule 

The Science Clubs are: 

  1. Photography (Grades 7-12): Iintensive courses in the art of photography through lectures and field trips, in addition to holding Photography Exhibitions.  

Note: Participants in the photography club will need to bring a digital camera during practical application days as scheduled by the supervisor.  

  1. Friends of Archeology: Introduction to archeological sites inside and outside Jordan through excursions, lectures and workshops.  

  1. Astronomy Club (Al-Thuraya Club): Monitoring, following and studying astronomical phenomena in cooperation with the Jordanian Astronomical Society. 

  2. Environment: Learning different ways to preserve the environment and keep it clean, contributing to the conservation of nature and animals, raising awareness regarding recycling waste, getting to know basics of agriculture, bird watching, etc. in coordination with the concerned organizations, as well as studying weather conditions and learning how to measure rainfall, temperature, humidity and acidity. Our school is an accredited center by the Meteorology Department for the Shmaisani area and participates in the international “Globe Programme” supervised by the US Space Agency, NASA. 

  3. Science Experiments: Learning about the different sections of a laboratory and conducting a variety of scientific experiments, in addition to writing research papers and carrying out science projects with the aim of participating in national and international competitions.  

  1. Robotics: Acquire design, construction and programming skills using Lego and Arduino and participate in the annual FLL First Lego League organized by the Jubilee School. 

 

  • Science Clubs membership is open for Students Grades (6-12) 

  • Space is limited to a maximum of 20 students in each of the Science Clubs. 

  • Each student can participate in only one club.  

  • Enrollment is free of charge for all students and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
