Student & Staff Population
Grades (1-12) NOS-Shmaisani campus: around 2000 students, cared for by a team of around 350 staff members.
KG1 and KG2 at Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten (KG1 and KG2): around 330 children, cared for by a team of around 54 staff members.
Stages
- Early Childhood (KG1 and KG2) at Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten
- Lower Primary: Stage (1-3)
- Upper Primary: Stage (4-5)
- Middle School: Stage (6-8)
- Upper/High School: Stage (9-12)
Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten, located in a separate but nearby location, has its own principal and administration. Each of the remaining stages, is run by a separate Head of Stage.
Programmes
Our school offers diverse academic programmes to meet the different learning needs, interests and abilities of students. But regardless of the programme, we make sure that learning for all students is based on the same key concepts and definitions, most important of which – after our values – are: High Quality Learning, Global Citizenship and Digital Citizenship.
- The National Programme – for Grades (1-12)
- The International (British Programme) – for Grades (1-12)
- The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme – for Grades (11 and 12), with IB Foundation Years in (Grade 9 and 10)
Our school offers the choice of enrolling in the National or International Programme starting Grade 1. Wahbeh Tamari KG runs one, bilingual, programme.
Enrolled students can move from one programme to the other depending on their language abilities and space availability.
The National Programme
This programme is taught primarily in Arabic. It is based on the Jordanian Ministry of Education’s curriculum, enriched with foreign curricula for English Language, English Science and French, in addition to English Math for Grades (6-8).
The International Programme
(Cambridge Programme)
This Programme is taught primarily in English. It is based on Cambridge Primary and Preparatory Programme for Grades (1-5) and Cambridge Secondary Programme for Grades (6-8), enriched with Jordanian Ministry of Education curricula for Arabic Language, Social Studies in Arabic and Religion.
Students in both the National and International Programme take the same classes for the following subjects: Computer, French, Art, Drama, Music, Physical Education, Religion classes (Orthodox Christian and Muslim) and Global Perspectives.
High School Programme Options
Starting Grade 9, students can choose from one of the following programme options:
1.The National Programme - Jordanian General High School Certificate (Tawjihi):
This programme is taught primarily in Arabic. It covers all subjects required by the Jordanian Ministry of Education curriculum, in addition to offering German language as an option for students in Grades 9 and 10.
After finishing Grade 10, students can choose to join the Scientific or Literary Stream. In addition to all the compulsory subjects for Grades 11 and 12, our school also offers all electives set by the Jordanian Ministry of Education in both streams.

2.The General Certificate of Secondary Education IAL (International A Level) /IGCSE/Edexcel/Cambridge
Starting Grade 9, all students can choose to enroll in this International British Certificate Programme where they sit for the external exams from the General Certificate of Secondary Education IAL (International A Level) /IGCSE/Edexcel/Cambridge.
This Programme is taught primarily in English. Students can choose among a selection of Scientific or Literary subjects from the programme curricula, based on the type of Jordanian Equivalency they want. In addition to the assigned curricula based on their subject choices in this programme, students take subjects, curricula and activities set by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and the school to fulfill graduation requirements.
Those who wish to join this programme from outside the school are required to sit for an entrance exam to evaluate their academic and English Language abilities.

3.International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
Our school became an “IB World School” in March 2018, accredited to teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The first class of NOS IBDP students will graduate from in 2021.
NOS also offers IBDP Foundation Years in Grades 9 and 10.
This programme is taught primarily in English. Students can choose among a selection of Scientific or Literary subjects from the programme curricula, based on the type of Jordanian Equivalency they want. In addition to the assigned curricula based on their subject choices in this programme, students take subjects, curricula and activities set by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and the school to fulfill graduation requirements.
Students are accepted in this programme, whether from inside or outside the school after passing a special entrance exam and interview.
