welcome MessageWelcome, dear visitors, to the NOS website, your virtual gateway to our school. Whether you are here because you are thinking of joining the NOS family as a new student, parent or staff member; or you are currently part of our beloved school community wanting to get to know your school better; or perhaps you are a cherished Alum looking to reconnect with your old school and other Alumni, or for any other reason, we are happy to have you here and hope you will find what you are looking for.

Since NOS began, almost six decades ago, in 1960, as the first co-educational school in Jordan, our school has been teaching fellowship, tolerance and harmony; it embraces boys and girls of different religious, ethnic, cultural, social and economic backgrounds, in one big family, where everyone learns that love is the basis of giving, and giving is the basis of humanity.

Our ability to balance between preserving our cultural heritage, on one hand, and embracing the present and the future, on another, keeps NOS a constant reservoir of the Young Leaders of Today.

At NOS we want everyone to feel at home and to be the best that they can be, in a loving, caring environment. Our school is known for its family atmosphere and the distinctive personalities of our students, that reflect NOS attributes and values.

Together, in partnership with our valued Parents, Teachers and the rest of NOS Team, and with the support of our parent organisation, the Orthodox Educational Society, we all join forces for one common goal, the benefit of our beloved students.

Providing High Quality Learning is a given priority; but just as important to us is making sure that our students grow in a balanced, well rounded manner and that they realise that excellence comes in many different forms.

For some students it may be high grades, as in the case of our IGCSE high-rankers who achieve top ranks worldwide in their external exams. For others, it may be winning championships in a team or individual sport, and for a third, it could be soaring in a music or drama performance or winning an art, language or science competition. It could also be in the form of being outstanding at community service or simply just being an overall kind and helpful person. We want every student to know and believe that they are special in their own way.

But the most important form of excellence and distinction we hope all our students will take away with them from their NOS experience is that of high morals and the common universal human values that we uphold.

As an Alum of the very first NOS Graduating class myself, having come back to teach and give back to the school that taught me and gave me so much, and going on to become it’s school principal, I can attest to that special “something in the air” that makes NOS get under your skin and into your DNA. As the saying goes, “once an NOS-er, Always an NOS-er.” This special feeling is why many NOS-ers continue to keep in touch with each other and go on to be lifelong friends. It is what brings many NOS-ers back – as parents, staff, or volunteers.

We hope you will enjoy your journey with NOS and will come back again and again, to be a part of the NOS family.
