Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten

Early Childhood Stage (KG1 & KG2)

Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten (WTKG)

Learning at our school begins with KG1 & KG2 at Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten, the NOS kindergarten which moved to a nearby but separate location in 1974, where a model kindergarten was built on a piece of land owned by OES, thanks to a donation by heirs of the late Mr. Wahbeh Tamari. The kindergarten was named as such in honor of Mr. Tamari.

The KG stage focuses on:

  1. Developing gross motor skills.
  2. Developing fine motor skills.
  3. Developing use of senses as a starting point to learn.
  4. Developing feelings of love for God and gratefulness for His blessings.
  5. Developing feelings of pride in our heritage, belonging to our country and love for our King.
  6. Developing a sense of self-confidence and self-esteem.
  7. Developing the ability of behavioural self-control.
  8. Developing the ability to express emotions and feelings.
  9. Developing self-respect and respect for others' rights.
  10. Developing and enhancing positive social skills of communication, cooperation and partnership with others.
  11. Developing an aesthetic sense to appreciate all that is beautiful in life.
  12. Developing logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  13. Developing basic scientific skills (observing, exploring, predicting, measuring and experimenting)
  14. Developing basic math skills (counting, sorting, matching, sequencing, making a pattern)
  15. Developing language skills (listening, conversing, reading and writing).
  16. Developing creative thinking.

WTKG offers a bilingual developmental programme, appropriate for the 4-6 age group to prepare children to join the primary stage using self-learning methods (learning through playing). Most of the WTK children move to the "big" school, the National Orthodox School - Shmaisani.
