Early Childhood Stage (KG1 & KG2)
Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten (WTKG)
Learning at our school begins with KG1 & KG2 at Wahbeh Tamari Kindergarten, the NOS kindergarten which moved to a nearby but separate location in 1974, where a model kindergarten was built on a piece of land owned by OES, thanks to a donation by heirs of the late Mr. Wahbeh Tamari. The kindergarten was named as such in honor of Mr. Tamari.
The KG stage focuses on:
- Developing gross motor skills.
- Developing fine motor skills.
- Developing use of senses as a starting point to learn.
- Developing feelings of love for God and gratefulness for His blessings.
- Developing feelings of pride in our heritage, belonging to our country and love for our King.
- Developing a sense of self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Developing the ability of behavioural self-control.
- Developing the ability to express emotions and feelings.
- Developing self-respect and respect for others' rights.
- Developing and enhancing positive social skills of communication, cooperation and partnership with others.
- Developing an aesthetic sense to appreciate all that is beautiful in life.
- Developing logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Developing basic scientific skills (observing, exploring, predicting, measuring and experimenting)
- Developing basic math skills (counting, sorting, matching, sequencing, making a pattern)
- Developing language skills (listening, conversing, reading and writing).
- Developing creative thinking.
WTKG offers a bilingual developmental programme, appropriate for the 4-6 age group to prepare children to join the primary stage using self-learning methods (learning through playing). Most of the WTK children move to the "big" school, the National Orthodox School - Shmaisani.
