Equal Opportunity and Limitations

Home > Admission & Registration > Equal Opportunity and Limitations

NOS has an open and inclusive Admissions Policy and treats all applicants equally; however, it reserves the right to deny admission or re-registration to any applicant whose behavior is not in line with the school’s Student Code of Conduct or the best interests and values of NOS.

Moreover, as a co-educational school, NOS aims to preserve a balanced ratio of male to female students. As a general rule, NOS admits male applicants only upon the registration of their female siblings of school age.

Applications are accepted for students from KG1 – Grade 11. Grade 12 students are only accepted under exceptional circumstances (such as a returning student) after their applications are reviewed by the Student Admissions Committee and approved by the OES Executive Board. Students applying for admission to Grade 12 IBDP must have completed Grade 11 in the IBDP in order to be considered.

While the school has a Learning Support & Special Educational Needs Centre that helps students with varying levels of learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Scotopic Sensitivity (Irlen) Syndrome (SSS), ADD and ADHD, the school is limited in its ability to cater to children with severe mental disabilities (IQ below 70) or severe physical disabilities due to the current school infrastructure, which is under improvement.

Special consideration is given during entrance exams and personal interviews for non-Arabic speaking students.
